This unit covers the competency required to observe and/or listen for targets remote from the target acquisition assets and to provide information to stakeholders. This work will be undertaken as part of a team and under supervision, however it will also require the authority to act independently. This observation is normally conducted by at least two people; one person will be the observer and one will record the data. This Unit of Competency covers both roles. |

This text will be useful for the purposes of job descriptions, recruitment advice or job analysis; where possible, it will not be too job specific to allow other industries to import it into other Training Packages, where feasible. |

Assessment must confirm the ability to identify threat equipment using aural means; and to recognise the following through visual means:
Consistency in performance Competency should be demonstrated over at least two different target locations from at least one observation site. |
