Application
This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to conduct single energy source isolation procedures for permits to work. A permit to work system is a formal method used to control certain types of work that can be potentially hazardous. A permit to work specifies the work to be completed, the precautions to be taken and the timeframe for completion. Competency in this unit requires the ability to plan and prepare for isolation, de-isolation and restoration, perform isolation and perform de-isolation and restoration. Individuals will, in general, work as an operator in a power generation facility. Power generation plant operators are trained and authorised to isolate, prepare plant and issue permits to work. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication. |
