Application
This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to fault find and repair data logging equipment. It includes preparing to find and repair faults, completing and reporting on repair activities. This unit applies to any work site where meters and data loggers are installed, and subject to all work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS) and duty of care requirements being met for the workplace. The application of the skills and knowledge described in this unit may require a licence/registration to practise in the workplace. Other conditions may apply under state and territory legislative and regulatory licensing requirements which must be confirmed prior to commencing this unit. |

Work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS) requirements and workplace procedures for relevant work area are identified, obtained and applied |

Instructions for the work are obtained and confirmed with relevant person/s in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturer instructions |

Find and repair faults |

WHS/OHS risk control measures, schedule of work and workplace procedures for carrying out work are followed |

Stray current testing and protection is undertaken in accordance with industry standards, regulations and workplace procedures |

Data logging equipment is checked and isolated, if required, in accordance with WHS/OHS requirements and workplace procedures |

2.4 |
Fault finding and repairs are undertaken correctly and safely in accordance with manufacturer instructions and workplace procedures |

2.5 |
Data logging components are disconnected, de-energised, serviced, replaced and recommissioned, as necessary, and parts returned as required |

2.6 |
The repair is tested in accordance with workplace procedures |

2.7 |
Unplanned events are dealt with in consultation with relevant person/s and in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturer instructions |

3 |
Complete and report repair activities |
3.1 |
WHS/OHS work completion risk control measures and workplace procedures are followed |
3.2 |
Final checks are performed to ensure quality of work complies with manufacturer instructions, industry standards and regulations |

3.3 |
Equipment, tools and any surplus resources and materials are cleaned, checked and stored securely or disposed of in accordance with workplace procedures |

3.4 |
Work area is tidied and made safe in accordance with job instructions and workplace procedures |

3.5 |
Work completion reporting is conducted and relevant person/s notified in accordance with workplace procedures |

3.6 |
Malicious and/or third-party damage is reported in accordance with workplace procedures |
