Critical aspects for assessment and evidence required to demonstrate competency in this unit 

Evidence of the ability to:

  • demonstrate knowledge of digital production and related production processes so that job procedures, requirements and modifications have been implemented to job specifications
  • establish and apply efficient production management information systems and accurately explain these systems to the production manager or client.

Context of and specific resources for assessment 

Assessment must ensure:

  • that conditions are typical ambient conditions found in the workplace
  • access to relevant facilities, equipment and materials used for digital printing
  • use of culturally appropriate processes and techniques appropriate to the language and literacy capacity of learners and the work being performed.

Method of assessment 

A range of assessment methods should be used to assess practical skills and knowledge. The following examples are appropriate for this unit:

  • direct questioning combined with review of portfolios of evidence
  • third party workplace reports of on-the-job performance by the candidate
  • practical demonstration by the candidate when applying production management information systems.
