This unit describes the skills required to package explosives and explosive components for transportation and storage where packaging includes painting, stencilling, marking, sealing, strapping, vacuum evacuation and labelling. This includes calculating net explosive quantity, applying compatibility constraints, marking the packaging with internationally recognised coding and maintaining a range of documentation. This unit applies to those required to prepare, package and finalise documentation for explosives and explosive components for the purpose of transportation and storage.
