Decision Details

The RTO must for the period of its current registration, retain and provide to ASQA within fourteen (14) days upon request:

  • copies of student files, for a period of 18 months from the date which a final judgement of competence is made for all VET courses delivered, the including copies of all:
    • marked assessment records (including any document which informed a determination of competence)
    • master assessment tools
    • learner and trainer guides
    • training and assessment strategies
    • pre-enrolment forms (including any document which informed whether the student’s English language proficiency, educational qualifications, or work experience is sufficient to enable a learner to enrol in a course)
    • evidence of student intervention and support in accordance with student support policy
    • student progress results across all units in all courses.

The RTO must for the period of its current registration, retain and provide to ASQA within fourteen (14) days upon request:

  • evidence of implementation of internal review/remediation action as follows:
    • quarterly internal audit report and associated changes
    • remediation actions after 13 December 2019 (e.g. completed gap assessments, supplementary classes)
  • timetables for all classes, at all locations, for all students, for each training period, which must include for each unit of competency:
    • course code and title
    • location and classroom
    • designated trainer(s)
    • first name and surname of allocated students
    • dates of training and any term breaks
    • scheduled class start and end times, including class breaks.
  • attendance monitoring records (i.e. utilising new biometric system, and hardcopy signed records where appropriate)
  • attendance policy and procedure.

The RTO must review its assessment system against clause 1.8 of the Standards, and conduct validation and moderation of select training products on its scope of registration, being:

  • AHC40316 Certificate IV in Production Horticulture,
  • AHC50316 Diploma of Horticulture, SIT40516 - Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery,
  • and any new training package product that would be automatically added to the scope of registration because it is equivalent to one which appears above; by 30 September 2020, and in accordance with the requirements with clauses 1.9 and 1.11 of the Standards. The moderation must sample a minimum of 10 completed student files for each selected training product on its scope of registration. A report must be produced of the moderation findings for each student file, including primary evidence of any gap training or reassessment conducted, refunds provided, qualifications cancelled, and evidence of the outcome of any recommendations made as a result of the moderation activity. These reports must be retained by the applicant, and made available to ASQA on request, for the period of its current registration with effect 35 calendar days after the date the RTO is given written notice of the decision.
