Description:
This course is designed for individuals whose work involves servicing, testing, inspecting and certifying lifting equipment and its components.
It will provide participants with knowledge to:
• apply mathematics and physics to lifting equipment testing and inspection
• work within Australian and international compliance frameworks
and skills to:
• maintain tools used for testing and inspection of lifting equipment
• undertake diagnostic service and rectify minor faults on lifting equipment and components
• conduct load and proof load testing on lifting equipment and components
• certify serviceability of lifting equipment and components
• manufacture and assemble lifting equipment and components
• decommission lifting equipment.
In line with the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) specification for the Certificate IV, graduates will ‘demonstrate autonomy, judgement and limited responsibility in known or changing contexts and within established parameters.’

Their knowledge and skills apply in a range of industry contexts, including aeronautical, agriculture, construction, defence, entertainment, manufacturing, marine, medical, mining and quarrying, and transport and distribution.
