• Counsellors, clinicians, clinical leaders, psychologists and social workers to build skills and knowledge in delivering integrated violence, abuse and neglect counselling responses
Function/duty/specialist skill:
• Provide specialist integrated interventions with children, young people and adults with complex histories of interpersonal violence such as child physical, sexual and emotional abuse and neglect, adult sexual violence and domestic and family violence
• Deliver specialist counselling interventions that are child and client centered, family focused, violence informed, and embedded within an integrated framework and socio-political context
• Apply dynamic assessment processes, including safety planning with victims and offenders of violence, abuse and neglect, in close collaboration with service providers and affected family members
• Undertake complex care coordination, planning and case management processes with children, young people and their families who are at current risk of child abuse and domestic and family violence
• Provide advocacy on behalf of vulnerable victims of interpersonal violence to meet their safety, legal and human rights
• Deliver community engagement, education and prevention strategies that prevent and minimise the impact of violence, abuse and neglect
