Qualification Description

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for individuals to undertake strategic commercial and technical roles in the telecommunications industry. Individuals in this capacity collaborate with business leaders to set the telecommunications agenda, creating and deploying innovative and collaborative technologies that connect people and communities, enable superior levels of personal and collective productivity, and viably grow the telecommunications industry and enterprise profitability.

The individual is an authority and trusted business advisor in strategy development, identifying, designing, developing and deploying tomorrow's solutions. The individual leads and applies research; and analyses, designs, develops and deploys technical and commercially viable integrated solutions for businesses and organisations. The individual is regularly called upon to solve highly complex business and technical problems in geographically dispersed, dynamic and challenging environments.

No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

Entry Requirements

Entry to this qualification is limited to those who:

Have completed a Bachelor degree in related fields of study and 2 years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience at a significant level of project or program leadership and management responsibility and/or complexity in an enterprise.

or

Have completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma qualification in related fields of study and 3 years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience at a significant level of project or program leadership and management responsibility and/or complexity in an enterprise.

or

Five years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience at a significant level of leadership and management responsibility and/or complexity in an enterprise.

Packaging Rules

The elective units must be relevant to the industry-supported vocational outcomes, local industry requirements and is to be chosen as follows:

The elective units consist of:

  • up to 6 from the elective units listed below
  • up to 1 from elsewhere in ICT Information and Communications Technology Training Package or any other Training Package or accredited course at Graduate Certificate level or above.
