Release 1.  This is the first release of this unit of competency in the TLI Transport and Logistics Training Package.

Application

This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to lead digital supply chain implementation. It includes identifying digital supply chain capabilities and vision, leading digital supply chain implementation, building digital supply chain capabilities and reviewing and reporting on digital supply chain implementation.

Harnessing technological hardware and software for real time operations will require supply chain organisations to revamp their processes and procedures. Leading digital supply chain implementation needs continuous engagement with customers and suppliers, as well as managing personnel through technological, cultural and organisational change.

The unit is applicable to those with management or team leadership responsibilities within a supply chain.

No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

Performance Evidence

Evidence required to demonstrate competence in this unit must be relevant to and satisfy all requirements of the elements and performance criteria on at least one occasion and includes

  • aligning digital supply chain vision to strategic business plans
  • assessing digital supply chain technical capabilities
  • communicating with and supporting digital supply chain stakeholders
  • confirming level of authority for leadership of digital supply chain implementation
  • determining and monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • determining technological capacity and capabilities for digital supply chains
  • documenting continuous improvement activities
  • identifying policies and procedures that supports digital supply chain implementation
  • leading digital supply chain implementation strategy
  • prioritising and monitoring implementation requirements for operational improvements
  • providing training, coaching, mentoring and networking opportunities including using digital supply chain champions
  • reviewing and reporting on digital supply chain implementation
  • utilising external expertise to enhance workforce capability, as required
  • verifying operational improvements and solutions that can be built on existing capabilities.

Knowledge Evidence

Evidence required to demonstrate competence in this unit must be relevant to and satisfy all requirements of the elements and performance criteria and includes knowledge of

Assessment Conditions

Assessors must hold credentials specified within the Standards for Registered Training Organisations current at the time of assessment.

Assessment must satisfy the Principles of Assessment and Rules of Evidence and all regulatory requirements included within the Standards for Registered Training Organisations current at the time of assessment.

Assessment must occur in workplace operational situations where it is appropriate to do so. Where this is not appropriate, assessment must occur in simulated workplace operational situations that replicate workplace conditions.

Assessment processes and techniques must be appropriate to the language, literacy and numeracy requirements of the work being performed and the needs of the candidate.

Resources for assessment must include access to a range of

  • exercises, case studies or other simulations
  • materials and tools including digital supply chain equipment used in industry
  • documentation including organisational policies and procedures industry standards, regulations, codes of practice, operational manuals and equipment specifications.
