Release 1.  This is the first release of this unit of competency in the TLI Transport and Logistics Training Package.

Application

This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to build digital supply chain capabilities in the workforce. It includes identifying supply chain workforce digital capabilities, developing a workforce digital capability plan, developing strategies to enhance workforce digital capabilities and reviewing and reporting on digital supply chain capabilities.

Workforce capability is defined as an organisation's ability to accomplish its objectives and goals through the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies of its personnel. Building workforce capability in the use of, and engagement with, digital tools and equipment will require identifying knowledge and skill gaps.

The unit is applicable to those with management or team leadership responsibilities within a supply chain.

No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

Performance Evidence

Evidence required to demonstrate competence in this unit must be relevant to and satisfy all the requirements of the elements and performance criteria on at least one occasion and includes

  • analysing supply chain industry requirements
  • communicating with stakeholders
  • conducting reviews
  • developing and implementing coaching and mentoring programs
  • developing and revising workforce digital capability strategic plans
  • disseminating information to personnel
  • identifying and mapping workforce gaps in digital knowledge and skills
  • implementing organisational policies and procedures
  • monitoring and reviewing workforce digital capabilities
  • preparing reports
  • reviewing and evaluating training and professional development programs
  • undertaking evaluations
  • using digital tools and equipment
  • working with personnel to enhance digital knowledge and skills.

Knowledge Evidence

Evidence required to demonstrate competence in this unit must be relevant to and satisfy all the requirements of the elements and performance criteria and includes knowledge of

Assessment Conditions

Assessors must hold credentials specified within the Standards for Registered Training Organisations current at the time of assessment.

Assessment must satisfy the Principles of Assessment and Rules of Evidence and all regulatory requirements included within the Standards for Registered Training Organisations current at the time of assessment.

Assessment must occur in workplace operational situations where it is appropriate to do so. Where this is not appropriate, assessment must occur in simulated workplace operational situations that replicate workplace conditions.

Assessment processes and techniques must be appropriate to the language, literacy and numeracy requirements of the work being performed and the needs of the candidate.

Resources for assessment must include access to a range of

  • exercises, case studies or other simulations
  • materials and tools including digital supply chain equipment used in industry
  • documentation including organisational policies and procedures, industry standards, regulations, codes of practice, operational manuals and equipment specifications.
