Release 1. This is the first release of this unit of competency in the TLI Transport and Logistics Training Package.
Application
This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to control the lift and movement of a crane when the load is out of the crane operator’s view, in accordance with workplace principles, procedures and regulations.
It includes providing lift instructions to the crane operator using appropriate communication methods, monitoring the lift and placing and securing a load.
Work must be carried out in compliance with the relevant state/territory authority licence/permit requirements and regulations for operating mobile cranes up to and including 20 tonnes.
Work is performed with limited or minimum supervision, and with limited accountability and responsibility for self and others in achieving prescribed outcomes.
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
