Application
This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to pilot or escort oversized and/or overmassed loads. Work must be carried out in accordance with National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) regulations for piloting and escorting oversized and overmassed loads, and relevant state and/or territory roads and traffic authority licence and/or permit requirements. It includes preparing for pilot and/or escort operation, carrying out communications regarding pilot/escort operation, and fulfilling all functions related to piloting and escorting vehicles carrying oversized and overmassed loads. Work is performed with limited or minimum supervision, and with limited accountability and responsibility for self and others in achieving the prescribed outcomes. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication. |
