Unit Descriptor
This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to lash and unlash cargo and containers. It includes preparing to lash and unlash cargo and containers, implementing the container lashing plan, and completing lashing and unlashing operations.
Application of the Unit
This unit applies to people working in cargo and container lashing contexts in the stevedoring, transport, distribution and allied industries.
Licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements are applicable to this unit.
Work must be carried out in compliance with the relevant regulations and workplace requirements concerning cargo and container lashing and unlashing.
Work is performed under some supervision generally within a team environment.
