Qualification Description
This is a qualification for those engaged in the management of safety within the rail industry in accordance with regulations, rail network standards, rules and procedures. This qualification requires a broad range of skilled applications within the rail safety environment. It also requires the skills and knowledge to evaluate and analyse current practices, to develop new criteria and procedures, and to provide some leadership and guidance to others in their work. This qualification applies to a technically competent or rail experienced person who, while working under a level of supervision, has responsibility for preventative safety management capacity to exercise discretion and judgement using appropriate rail knowledge to provide technical assistance and safety support to rail operation stakeholders. Packaging Rules
A total of 10 units of competency comprising:
Up to 2 of the general elective units may be selected from any relevant nationally endorsed Training Package. The general elective units must contribute to the vocational outcomes of the qualification. Where imported units are selected, care must be taken to ensure that all prerequisite units specified are complied with. |
