Release 1 . This is a new release of this qualification in the TLI Transport and Logistics Training Package.

Qualification Description

This qualification is designed for mobile crane operation within the Transport and Logistics Industry and other industries.

It involves a broad range of skilled applications applied in a wide variety of contexts.

Successful achievement of the high risk work (HRW) and heavy vehicle licensing units in the qualification must align with licensing and regulatory requirements.

People seeking certification for HRW licensing units should check the requirements with Safe Work Australia.

No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements for this qualification.

Packaging Rules

A total of 20 units of competency comprising :

10 core units listed below, plus

10 elective units, of which 1 elective unit must be taken from Group A elective units listed below and 6 elective units must be taken from Group B elective units listed below. plus

The remaining 3 elective units may be selected from Group A or Group B or from any relevant nationally endorsed Training Package or accredited course.

The elective units must contribute to the vocational outcomes of the qualification.

Where imported units are selected, care must be taken to ensure that all prerequisite units specified are complied with. The following imported units have prerequisite units:

  • CPCCCM2010B Work safely at heights
    ∟CPCCOHS2001A Apply OHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry
  • CPCCLRG3001 Licence to perform rigging basic level
    ∟CPCCLDG3001 Licence to perform dogging
  • CPCCLRG3002 Licence to perform rigging intermediate level
    ∟CPCCLRG3001 Licence to perform rigging basic level

Note:

To comply with the National Standards for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work, there is a requirement to achieve TLILIC3006/TLILIC0008 Licence to operate a non-slewing mobile crane (greater than 3 tonnes capacity) before commencing the selected slewing mobile crane licence unit.

Applying for a high risk work licence for TLILIC0008 Licence to operate a non-slewing mobile crane (greater than 3 tonnes capacity) is not a requirement if the selected mobile slewing crane licence is being applied for, as this licence covers TLILIC0008 Licence to operate a non-slewing mobile crane.
