Modification History

Release 4 . This is the fourth release of this qualification in the TLI Transport and Logistics Training Package. The following units have been updated in the general elective units:

  • TLIH0003 Prioritise courier/delivery operations.

Release 3 . This is the third release of this qualification in the TLI Transport and Logistics Training Package. The following Group B units have been updated:

  • TLIF0009 Ensure the safety of transport activities (Chain of Responsibility)
  • TLIF0014 Monitor the safety of transport activities (Chain of Responsibility).

Release 2 . This is the second release of this qualification in the TLI Transport and Logistics Training Package. The following change has been made:

  • TLILIC2001 Licence to operate a forklift truck has been replaced with TLILIC0003 Licence to operate a forklift truck.

Release 1 . This is the first release of this qualification in the TLI Transport and Logistics Training Package.

Qualification Description

This is a qualification for those engaged in the transport and logistics industry in a scheduling role.

It involves a broad range of applications, including requirements for:

  • allocating staff and resources
  • planning routes
  • optimising delivery service
  • contingency planning
  • effective stakeholder engagement
  • chain of responsibility obligations.

It ensures regulatory compliance is met for all types of freight, including but not limited to:

  • break bulk
  • bulk cargo/freight
  • bulk liquid
  • container/s
  • couriers within the logistics industry
  • dangerous goods
  • furniture
  • general
  • livestock
  • over dimension
  • passengers
  • refrigerated
  • vehicle/mobile plant transport.

Additionally, the qualification provides skills in leading teams, just-in-time delivery, load security/integrity, optimising the use of telematic data in cost effective journey planning and delivery.

Job roles 

Job roles and titles vary across different sectors. Possible job titles relevant to this qualification include:

  • aviation scheduler
  • maritime scheduler
  • rail operations scheduler
  • transport allocator
  • transport scheduler.

No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

There are no entry requirements for this qualification.

Packaging Rules

A total of 14 units of competency  comprising:

4 core units  listed below, plus 

1 specialist elective unit  from Group A (Fatigue risk management) , plus  

1 specialist elective unit  from Group B (Regulatory) , plus

8 general elective units  from Group C or remaining Group A or Group B specialist units.

Up to 3 of the general elective units  may be selected from any relevant nationally endorsed Training Package or accredited course. The general elective units must contribute to the vocational outcomes of the qualification.

Where imported units are selected, care must be taken to ensure that all prerequisite units specified are complied with.
