Description

This is skill set covers the fundamental requirements for advanced tyre fitters operating with off-the-road and earthmoving tyres, wheels and rim assemblies of not less than 600mm (24 inches) nominal diameter.

The units in this skill set can provide credit towards RII30115 Certificate III in Surface Extraction Operations and RII30218 Certificate III in Underground Coal Operations.

Skill Set Requirements

Successful completion of 6 units of competency :

  • all 4 of the following units:
  • RIICOM301D Communicate information
  • RIIRIS401D Apply site risk management system
  • RIISAM315A Manage tyre, wheel and rim assembly applications
  • RIIWHS301D Conduct safety and health investigations
  • 2 prerequisite units required for RIISAM315A, consisting of either:
  • 2 RII prerequisite units listed below; or 
  • 2 AUR prerequisite units listed below.

Prerequisite units for RIISAM315A Manage tyre, wheel and rim assembly applications 

RIISAM210D Remove and fit wheel assemblies; and

RIISAM211D Remove, repair and refit tyres and tubes

OR 

AURKTJ011 Remove, inspect and fit earthmoving and off-the-road tyres; and

AURKTJ012Remove, inspect and fit earthmoving and off-the-road wheel and rim assemblies
