  • setting up and disconnecting the spreader box
  • spreading aggregate including coordination opening and closing of spreader box
  • hand spreading and spotting
  • works effectively with others to conduct aggregate spreader box operations that meets all of the required outcomes, including:
  • organising work activities to meet all task requirements
  • communicating clearly and concisely with others to receive and clarify work instructions
  • using a range of communication techniques and systems such as signage to advise others of work activity and exclusion zone
  • instructing driver to adjust speed, line or angle of body as required
  • demonstrates completion of conducting aggregate spreader box operations that safely, effectively and efficiently meets all of the required outcomes including:
  • identifying, reporting and recording hazards and risks
  • a minimum of four (4) transverse paper joints are placed, picked up and disposed of
  • a minimum of six (6) truckloads of at least two (2) different aggregate are spread to the design application rate. It must include three (3) runs of wings, tapers and turning lanes on at least three (3) sites varying in complexity
