Qualification Description
The PUA50120 Diploma of Public Safety (Emergency Management) is designed for personnel undertaking emergency management responsibilities at an incident, emergency or disaster. This will include the coordination of resources, personnel and entities as well as the coordination of activities with other organisations. The role of personnel is to assist in the management for an incident, emergency or disaster. Personnel undertaking emergency management responsibilities may work in multi-organisational teams. This qualification includes the units of competency required by personnel for performing a range of activities such as planning and the coordination of activities for an incident, emergency or disaster. This supports prevention of, preparedness for, response to and recovery from such events. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication. |

Packaging Rules
A total of 10 units of competency comprising
Choose a minimum of 3 elective units from the general elective unit list below. Choose 2 elective units from the elective unit list below or elsewhere within this training package or another endorsed training package or any accredited course. All elective units selected from outside this qualification must contribute to the vocational outcome of the qualification. Where imported units are selected, care must be taken to ensure that all prerequisite units specified are complied with. Prerequisites attached to any of the units must be obtained and are additional to the number of units required for this qualification. Where a prerequisite is attached to a unit it is identified by the symbol ∟. Note : Refer to the PUA Training Package Companion Volume Implementation Guide for information on fire prerequisites. |
