This skill set is for individuals working within or new to the public sector. These competencies provide an overview of the sector, an understanding of core public sector values, principles and diversity issues, and expectations relating to government services, communications, practices and processes.

These units serve as a foundation for government qualifications and as an introduction to the Public Sector for new employees, team leaders or supervisors. Completion of this skill set contributes to most Certificate IV level government generalist and specialist qualifications.
