2. Assemble mould |
2.1 Verify required mould parts against job specifications 2.2 Use mould set-up jig to support mould assembly 2.3 Assemble mould according to job requirements 2.4 Check position of mould in relation to rest of machine to ensure mould will produce correct output 2.5 Check mould will open and close 2.6 Apply suitable release agent 2.7 Check breather/vent system for safe functioning 2.8 Pack breather/vent system with material to avoid spillages |
3. Dismantle mould |
3.1 Apply mould dismantling jig to support dismantling process 3.2 Dismantle mould according to standard dismantling procedures 3.3 Strip mould of release agent 3.4 Clean mould to remove contaminants 3.5 Dry out mould in preparation for storage 3.6 Store mould parts according to workplace storage procedures |
4. Inspect and maintain mould parts |
4.1 Inspect equipment to identify worn parts and assess overall condition 4.2 Replace worn mould parts based on inspection results 4.3 Accurately record details of worn parts |
5. Maintain mould part stocks |
5.1 Check stocks of spare parts against expected stock levels 5.2 Advise supervisor of stock required, parts used and date of completed mould |
6. Respond to process control variances |
6.1 Recognise and log process control variances and their causes 6.2 Determine, prioritise and implement remedial and preventative actions based on identified issues and causes 6.3 Accurately maintain records and logbooks |
Foundation Skills
This section describes those language, literacy, numeracy and employment skills that are essential to performance.
- Numeracy skills to interpret technical information and check and report on stock levels.
- Reading skills to interpret specifications and workplace procedures.
