Application
This unit describes the skills required to identify and minimise the environmental impact of water industry work activities, to identify general environmental risks and to implement and monitor environmental procedures.
This unit applies to those working in all roles in the water industry.
The skills and knowledge described in this unit must be applied within the legislative, regulatory and policy environment in which they are carried out. Organisational policies and procedures must be consulted and adhered to.
Those undertaking this unit would work under indirect supervision, while performing mostly specific tasks in a range of contexts.
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to unit at the time of publication.

2. Implement environmental procedures |
2.1 Plan activities for the selected environmental procedures for the site and take relevant action. 2.2 Record and report environmental incidents and emergency procedures. |
3. Report and review the application of environmental procedures |
3.1 Monitor the effects of selected environmental controls and report. 3.2 Complete environmental reporting procedures for the specific project or site. 3.3 Report environmental risks, potential impacts and incidents. 3.4 Contribute to regular reviews of environmental procedures for continuous improvement. |
