Modification History
Release 1. Retitled qualification which has been restructured to provide greater focus on ‘textile fundamentals’ that industry considers essential and which underpin work across different outcomes. Electives allow for outcomes in design or production. Overall number of units reduced by seven. Core units reduced to enable creation of Group A for textile fundamentals.
Qualification Description
This qualification reflects the role of individuals working in diverse areas of textile design, development and production. They may be involved in technical production or be small-scale designers and makers of textile products. People working in these roles use a broad factual, technical and theoretical knowledge of textile materials and processes to underpin sustainable and efficient work practices.
No occupational licensing or certification requirements exist at the time of publication.
