Application
This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to maintain mooring equipment. This includes identifying faulty equipment, working safely, carrying out maintenance and completing necessary documentation. This unit applies to individuals working in the maritime industry who have responsibility for the operational maintenance of mooring equipment. Licensing/Regulatory Information No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication. |

Prepare to carry out maintenance |

Inspections are conducted and maintenance requirements are identified in accordance with workplace procedures |

Risk is assessed and hazard control measures are applied to level of responsibility and referred to appropriate person for further action in accordance with workplace procedures |

Tasks are planned and sequenced in conjunction with others involved in or affected by maintenance work and task prioritisation is determined |

Relevant tools and equipment required to undertake maintenance are identified and assembled in accordance with workplace procedures |

Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is selected and used in accordance with workplace procedures |

Carry out maintenance |

Maintenance is carried out in accordance with manufacturer instructions, specifications, and workplace procedures |
