Performance Evidence

Evidence of the ability to:

  • develop a website according to design specifications
  • lay out page elements
  • test the web pages in a variety of browsers
  • validate the web pages, against industry standards.

Note: If a specific volume or frequency is not stated, then evidence must be provided at least once.

Knowledge Evidence

To complete the unit requirements safely and effectively, the individual must:

  • summarise standard web and web scripting design principles
  • define and explain the application of the following for website development:
  • cascading style sheets (CSS)
  • the hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP)
  • a markup language, such as hypertext markup language (HTML), or extensible hypertext markup language (XHTML)
  • World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) standards.

Assessment Conditions

Gather evidence to demonstrate consistent performance in conditions that are safe and replicate the workplace. Noise levels, production flow, interruptions and time variances must be typical of those experienced in the website technologies field of work, and include access to:

  • a computer
  • an aesthetic presentation brief
  • a variety of browsers
  • the internet, to validate against the W3C.

Assessors must satisfy NVR/AQTF assessor requirements.
