Skill Set Description
This skill set provides a set of skills for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Workers to specialise in the provision of clinical maternal and infant care.
Units
HLTAHW027 Provide information and strategies in sexual health for women
HLTAHW029 Provide information and strategies in maternal and infant health
HLTAHW057 Provide antenatal health care
HLTAHW058 Prepare for and support childbirth
HLTAHW059 Provide postnatal and infant health care
Pathways Information
These units may provide credit towards the Diploma of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice or the Advanced Diploma of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care.
Licensing/Regulatory Information
No licensing, legislative or certificate requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.
Skill Set Requirements
This skill set has been endorsed by industry for workers who hold a qualification at the level of Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice or Diploma of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice.
Target Group
This skill set provides a pathway for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Workers to specialise in the provision of clinical maternal and infant care.
Application of this skill set is only appropriate under the supervision of a relevant health professional being a Medical Practitioner, Registered Nurse or Midwife and as a member of a health care team.
