Skill Set Description
This skill set provides a set of skills to establish, maintain and facilitate the provision of appropriate first aid in a workplace environment, including the skills to provide an emergency first aid response in the event of an emergency.
^ From 1 July 2022 the units HLTAID006, HLTAID007, HLTAID008 must no longer be delivered and will be replaced in the Packaging Rules by the unit HLTAID014, HLTAID015, HLTAID016 - for more information see: https://asqa.gov.au/news-events/news/reminder-about-superseded-hlt-first-aid-units
Units
HLTAID006 Provide advanced first aid
^ HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid (must be delivered from 1 July 2022)
HLTAID007 Provide advanced resuscitation
^ HLTAID015 Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy (must be delivered from 1 July 2022)
HLTAID008 Manage first aid services and facilities
^ HLTAID016 Manage first aid services and resources (must be delivered from 1 July 2022)
Pathways Information
These units may provide credit towards a range of qualifications at Certificate IV and Diploma levels.
Licensing/Regulatory Information
Specific licensing requirements relating to this competency, including requirements for refresher training, should be obtained from the relevant State/Territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authority.
