This skill set has been endorsed by industry as appropriate for people who hold a qualification at Certificate III level or higher or who have commensurate industry skills as evaluated through recognition of prior learning processes. It provides a set of skills for providing clients with disability with information about basic oral hygiene and care through the provision of educational and motivational information including the demonstration of oral hygiene practices and techniques where appropriate and assisting in the implementation of associated oral health care practices Application of this skill set is intended to support clients to maintain an appropriate level of oral health care as identified by a relevant oral health practitioner and to identify potential oral health issues for referral to an appropriate oral health practitioner. |
