Senior make-up artists/designers apply the skills and knowledge described in this unit. Creative use of make-up enhances the ability of actors to portray characters. Thorough background research is required to ensure that characters are accurately represented. Depending on the nature of the job, a specialist make-up artist/designer can work alone, or, on large-scale productions, they could be responsible for supervising other make-up artists.
