Description
This skill set addresses the skills, knowledge and performance requirements for assisting with the staging of festivals and events.
Pathways Information
The units provide credit towards CUA20220 Certificate II in Creative Industries, CUA30420 Certificate III in Live Production and Technical Services, CUA40420 Certificate IV in Live Production and Technical Services, CUA50420 Diploma of Live Production and Technical Services and other qualifications that allow for selection of these units.
Licensing/Regulatory Information
Sets and staging for some performances or events may fall within the definition of construction work. If so, people entering the construction site are required to complete the general induction training program specified by the Model Code of Practice: Construction work (Safe Work Australia 2018). The unit ‘CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry’ fulfils this requirement.
Relevant work health and safety state and territory regulatory authorities should be consulted to confirm additional jurisdictional requirements.
The National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work applies to persons performing dogging, rigging, scaffolding work and operating elevating work platforms. Completion of the following units is required for certification and where applicable, at either basic, intermediate or advanced levels:
- CPCCLDG3001 Licence to perform dogging
- CPCCLRG3001 Licence to perform rigging basic level
- CPCCLRG3002 Licence to perform rigging intermediate level
- CPCCLRG4001 Licence to perform rigging advanced level
- CPCCLSF2001 Licence to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding basic level
- TLILIC0005 Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more).
