Application
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to assist with scenic art tasks.
At this level, individuals are under broad supervision and are expected to act autonomously within established parameters as they take responsibility for assisting with scenic art for productions in the screen, media, entertainment and events industries.
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

1. Prepare for scenic art production |
1.1 Liaise with supervisor to determine scenic art requirements 1.2 Select materials for scenic art production according to instructions and intended use of scenic art elements 1.3 Calculate quantities of required materials, avoiding waste where possible 1.4 Select equipment and tools according to materials being used and type of scenic art |
2. Take part in scenic art production |
2.1 Assist with the production of scenic art using a range of basic techniques 2.2 Complete production processes in a logical sequence 2.3 Follow safety procedures throughout the process according to organisational requirements 2.4 Work cooperatively with other team members to ensure efficiency and quality of final scenic art |
3. Complete simple scenic art tasks |
3.1 Identify problems promptly and take action within scope of own responsibility 3.2 Contribute to evaluations of prop construction processes 3.3 Seek feedback on own work performance and note ways to improve in the future |
