Application
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to adapt and develop techniques for performing to a camera for television or film productions, multimedia displays or online environments.
The unit applies to those who wish to extend their performance techniques in areas including dance, musical theatre, singing and acting, covering the requirements of on-camera performances. Supervision and guidance are provided in practice sessions and rehearsals. Performers are also expected to display a high level of responsibility for themselves and others during film shoots.
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

2. Prepare for film shoots |
2.1 Discuss the intention and key aspects of film shoots with required personnel 2.2 Use screen terminology in preparations and discussions as required 2.3 Identify and confirm specific work practices and health and safety issues required for working on film sets 2.4 Apply safe performance practices and implement injury prevention strategies |
3. Perform and follow direction on-camera |
3.1 Indicate awareness of shot sizes and ability to hit a mark and work to camera framing 3.2 Adapt performance during shooting using direction from required personnel 3.3 Repeat segments and shots according to requirements of shoots and requests of artistic team members 3.4 Perform segments in a random order, according to shoot requirements 3.5 Analyse performances and note areas for own improvement using recordings |
