  • participate in professional development activities to enhance own knowledge and artistic judgement skills.

Knowledge Evidence

To complete the unit requirements safely and effectively, the individual must:

  • identify sources of music industry information relevant to own professional practice
  • describe genres and styles of music
  • explain how to identify artistic qualities in music
  • explain how to identify commercial opportunities in music
  • explain the factors that influence trends in music
  • describe the role of networking in enhancing professional practice
  • list and describe a range of professional development opportunities relevant to own practice.

Assessment Conditions

Assessment must be conducted in a safe environment where evidence gathered demonstrates consistent performance of typical activities experienced in creative arts industry environments. The assessment environment must include access to:

  • sources of relevant information
  • environments for networking and interacting with others.

Assessors of this unit must satisfy the requirements for assessors in applicable vocational educational and training legislation, frameworks and/or standards.
