2. Develop a career plan

Performance Evidence

Evidence of the ability to:

  • use a range of methods to establish and build contacts relevant to professional career interests
  • develop a career plan that incorporates the results of self-analysis and feedback from others
  • plan and create a skills portfolio using appropriate presentation formats.

Note: If a specific volume or frequency is not stated, then evidence must be provided at least once.

Knowledge Evidence

To complete the unit requirements safely and effectively, the individual must:

  • identify sources of information about the industry and career possibilities
  • describe job roles and pathways into and within the industry
  • list components of a typical career plan
  • summarise information that should be included in a skills portfolio
  • describe different presentation formats for skills portfolios and personal resumes.

Assessment Conditions

Assessment must be conducted in a safe environment where evidence gathered demonstrates consistent performance of typical activities experienced in creative arts industry environments. The assessment environment must include access to:

  • career information and resources
  • industry information, job roles and career pathways
  • interaction with others.

Assessors of this unit must satisfy the requirements for assessors in applicable vocational educational and training legislation, frameworks and/or standards.
