Qualification Description

This qualification reflects the role of individuals working in a wide variety of community-based performance and production contexts, which can often focus on the maintenance of cultural heritage. They apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable problems, and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources. They may provide leadership and guidance to others and have limited responsibility for the output of others. It applies to individuals who work in theatre environments.

The job roles that relate to this qualification may include community theatre performer, community cultural development officer and community theatre production manager.

Units of competency in qualification

Packaging Rules

Total number of units = 15

5 core units  plus

10 elective units , of which:

  • at least 3 units must be from Group A
  • of the remaining units:
  • all may be from Group A and/or Group B
  • up to 3 may be from Group C
  • up to 2 may be from this or any other currently endorsed Certificate IV or above training package qualification or accredited course
  • 1 may be from this or any other currently endorsed Certificate III or above training package qualification or accredited course.

Elective units must be relevant to the work environment and the qualification, maintain the overall integrity of the AQF alignment, not duplicate the outcome of another unit chosen for the qualification, and contribute to a valid industry-supported vocational outcome.
