Qualification Description
This qualification reflects the role of individuals working in a wide variety of dance performance contexts. They apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable problems and analyse and evaluate information from different sources in relation to dance practices. They may provide leadership and guidance to others and have limited responsibility for the output of others.
The job roles that relate to this qualification may include ensemble dancer, dancer or choreographer.

Units of competency in qualification
Some individual units of competency may have their own licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements. Users must check individual units of competency for licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements relevant to that unit.
Entry Requirements
Individuals must complete an audition or provide another form of evidence which demonstrates their competence in at least one dance style equivalent to Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) level 3 or above.
Packaging Rules
Total number of units = 13
6 core units plus
7 elective units , of which:
- at least 4 must be from Group A
- of the remaining elective units:
- all may be from Group A and/or Group B
- up to 2 may be from this or any other currently endorsed Certificate IV or above training package qualification or accredited course
- 1 may be from this or any other currently endorsed Certificate III or above training package qualification or accredited course.
Elective units must be relevant to the work environment and the qualification, maintain the overall integrity of the AQF alignment, not duplicate the outcome of another unit chosen for the qualification, and contribute to a valid industry-supported vocational outcome.
