To achieve this qualification, the candidate must demonstrate competency in:

• 16 units of competency:

• 6 core units
• 10 elective units.

The elective units are to be chosen as follows:

• a minimum of 4 units from Group A
• up to 4 units from Group B
• up to 4 vocationally relevant fire industry units from Certificate III or Certificate IV qualifications in the current versions of the following Training Packages:
