Qualification Description
This qualification reflects the role of workers in a range of community safety services settings in remote and other communities.
These services may include safety patrols, outreach services, community liaison and support roles or community networking programs in relation to specific initiatives.
At this level, work takes place under the general direction of others and supervision may be direct or indirect. Workers in community safety services roles contribute to the safety and wellbeing of their communities.
The skills in this qualification must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State or Territory legislation, Australian standards and industry codes of practice.
No occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

There are no entry requirements for this qualification.
Packaging Rules
12 units must be completed:
- 5 core units
- 7 elective units, consisting of:
- at least 4 units from the electives from the list below
- the remaining 3 units from the electives listed below, elsewhere in the CHC Community Services Training Package, or any endorsed Training Package or accredited course.
All electives chosen must contribute to a valid, industry supported vocational outcome.
