Description:
The course has been developed to provide students who do not hold any formal qualifications in painting and decorating with the ability to demonstrate essential knowledge and skills in surface preparation and coating systems, knowledge of colour theory and wallpapering techniques. Further, the course allows tradespersons and learners to demonstrate essential knowledge and skills to establish estimated costs associated with the acquisition of materials and labour on building and construction sites, together with the application of relevant overhead costs and margins. The knowledge of physical resources and supplier identification, assessment of the availability of and requirements for skilled labour, application of appropriate codes, regulations and approvals processes is essential in enabling the learner to identify business and administrative requirements of a painting contractor wishing to commence their own business.
