This course is intended to provide participants with a range of advanced knowledge, skills, and generic and specific competencies to perform the following job roles:
• Independent animal biomechanical medical practitioner working in own practice
• Animal biomechanical medical practitioner working in group practice
• Animal biomechanical medical practitioner working in association with veterinary practice
The following educational outcomes are included in this course.
Development of the performance outcomes, skills & knowledge required to:
• Assess risks and manage the handling of animals safely while undertaking animal biomechanical medicine (ABM) treatment.
• Work as an animal biomechanical medicine (ABM) professional whether as an independent practitioner or in association with other professionals.
• Maintain and extend professional knowledge in animal biomechanical medicine (ABM) for self and colleagues.
• Evaluate the underlying health and functional status of an animal patient before the application of animal biomechanical medicine (ABM).
• Assess the condition of the animal patient and gather information in order to provide animal biomechanical medicine (ABM) treatment.
• Administer animal biomechanical medicine (ABM) treatment safely and effectively.
• Manage the animal patient following animal biomechanical medicine treatment and to establish rehabilitation plans to optimise response to animal biomechanical medicine.
• Evaluate and take into consideration an animal patient’s specific lifestyle needs and client expectations, and to understand the impact these may have on expected prognosis and response to animal biomechanical medicine (ABM) treatment.

22518VIC Graduate Diploma of Animal Biomechanical Medicine supersedes and is equivalent to 22245VIC Graduate Diploma of Animal Biomechanical Medicine.
