The purpose of the course is to provide initial teacher training to current teachers in community language schools who lack a formal teaching or training qualification in community language teaching. Graduates of this course will take up roles as teachers in the community languages sector or leadership roles such as senior teacher of a community languages school. The target group is current teachers in community language schools, including those involved in teaching or aspiring to leadership positions such as senior teachers or principals in a community language school.

22495VIC Certificate IV in Community Languages Teaching supersedes, and is not equivalent to 22159VIC Certificate IV in Community Languages Teaching.

Nominal hours range for 370 to 406.
