Description:
The Certificate III in Ecology is designed to support crew supervisors working in the field and people working in spotter-catcher roles, as vegetation assessors and pre scopers working in urban or disturbed environments such as rural roads, urban streets and parks, above- and below ground utility easements, rail corridors, open cut mining and forestry coupes.
These workers are required to have a higher skill set than the Certificate II in Ecology, with a greater knowledge of flora and fauna, including how to collect seed, trap animals, and collect and preserve biological samples. Once again, there is a strong emphasis on these workers being able to apply vegetation management techniques to create and maintain habitat refuges.
Nominal hours range from 670 to 710 plus 160 hours work placement.
