The purpose of the course is to upskill general fitters and mechanics to meet the needs of weapon armourers:
* Fitter Armourer Technician
This course is intended to provide participants with a range of skills and knowledge to perform the following functions:
* carry out repair, maintenance, assembly and testing activities involving small arms weapon systems
* take responsibility for the quality of output of the maintenance processes associated with small arms weapon systems
* maintain a high level of safety and security in small arms weapon maintenance and repair
* maintain technical records of maintenance and repairs performed on small arms weapons systems.
