The Advanced Diploma of Screen Acting covers the full spectrum of skills training needed to produce a high calibre and successful screen actor, able to gain employment in a demanding industry. Based on the “Roberts Method” it mixes a strong academic element with a hard-nosed professionalism. It provides total focus and immersive training in the unique skills and techniques required for screen acting to meet the demands of today’s screen industry. The predominant area of employment for actors both in Australia and overseas is screen acting rather than theatre and this provides the primary driver for the course.
This qualification has a large practical base, including:
● Working on scenes from screen production scripts on an ongoing basis which are recorded, viewed and analysed.
● Working on television commercial scripts, which are recorded, viewed and analysed.
● Successful completion of this qualification will enable graduates to:
● Accomplish “on set” audition and screen-testing techniques with various acting methods
● Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of and experience with the art and craft of acting for screen production
● Act confidently in front of the camera
● Work independently and collaboratively in a high-pressure creative environment
● Work professionally with directors to fulfill production requirements.
● Network with prominent and current industry working professionals
