Description:
The purpose of the Certificate I in English Proficiency is to provide learners with a basic level of English proficiency required to access opportunities for study, workplace participation and community engagement.
This course is intended to provide learners with the following general education outcomes:
• Use basic English language skills to:
o participate in short basic verbal exchanges to communicate basic information on familiar topics
o read and write short basic texts, including basic statements and questions
o give and respond to short basic instructions
o recognise and use numbers and common symbols for basic familiar purposes
o build basic learning strategies
o use ICT to support learning
o build future goals and pathways
