Description:

This course is designed to provide the knowledge and skill for individuals to be able to identify a range of Asbestos products and materials and be able to report the material to the relevant person.

This course will allow participants to meet WorkSafe ACT requirements specified in section 19 (3) (f) of the ACT Work Health & Safety Act 2011 in addition to meeting the WorkSafe ACT Guidance note for “Workers who may encounter asbestos in their work must be trained”.

This is a mandatory legislative requirement in the ACT.

In the ACT, the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 mandates asbestos awareness training for all construction occupations as well as workers and employers that reasonably believe they will work with asbestos or asbestos containing material while at work.

Additionally, it will also allow graduates to meet a range of State and Territory requirements including Acts and Codes of Practice in the State or Territory of their employment.
