Description:

This course is intended to provide participants with a range of knowledge and skills to perform the following functions associated with acting for stage (theatrical productions and other forms of live performance) and screen (television, film, online, digital and multimedia platforms.) The course is structure to expose participants to a range of acting techniques as well as fit them for work as a self-employed creative artist. It should equip graduates to:

• Perform roles in theatrical, film, television, hybrid and new media productions
• Apply acting technique
• Analyse and interpret scripts for performance
• Improvise in stage and screen contexts
• Engage in professional dialogue
• Collaborate with other performers to devise new works
• Source funding for creative projects
• Work professionally in the creative arts industries.

Participants completing electives in specialist areas will also be able to:
• Present on TV
• Engage in voiceover work
• Perform staged combat
• Participate in a musical theatre ensemble
• Direct other performers
• Write a short work for performance
• Provide freelance services
