25 August 2020

National Skills Week runs from August 24th – 30th and to accommodate COVID-19 travel restrictions, is a virtual event this year.

National Skills Week focuses on raising the awareness and profile of vocational education and training (VET) and the wide range of opportunities it offers to those entering the workforce or those switching careers or looking for work.

National Skills Week is the banner that a range of registered and partnered events run under, catering for both potential VET participants, their parents and the education, employment and skills training industry that supports them.

Year 13’s Future of Work Expo is a good place to start for people starting their career wanting to know more about the industries they are interested in. Celebrate National Skills Week 2020 by checking out the National Careers Institute – Your Career Front Door. Job seekers will find learn and train information, discover jobs and training courses in their location, and handy tools for matching their current skills to the job market.

The Australian Government’s National Careers Institute (NCI) will be featuring in a keynote industry videoconference. Executive Director Tiffany Blight will be giving an update about the NCI’s work and what it offers to everyday Australians and the education and skills training sectors. The NCI also has a booth at the Year 13 event.
