Release 1. This is the first release of this unit of competency in the TLI Transport and Logistics Training Package.
Application
This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to plan and conduct specialised lift by a mobile crane (excluding demolition work). It involves a lift that may be specialised in terms of job and equipment requirements, load qualities, or critical aspects of lift location/s. It includes inspecting site, planning lift, setting up lift, working effectively in a team, lifting and moving load, and following up on a job. Work must be carried out in accordance with high risk work licence/permit requirements and relevant state/territory authority regulations for specialised mobile crane operations. Work is performed under general supervision. It involves the application of some judgement and routine principles and procedures for planning and conducting of specialised lifts in a variety of operational contexts. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication. |

Plan lift |

Multiple crane lifts are planned, as required, to encompass determination of types of cranes suitable for use and an assessment of load share to be carried by each crane |
